Weddings at Turtle Bay Beach Club

Free Weddings Available* All Inclusive 7 nights from £1,299 per person Including Flights

Overview

Tie the knot at Turtle Bay Beach Club, a tropical paradise nestled amongst beautifully landscaped gardens and an incredibly serene, romantic beach. Set on the edge of the Marine National Park at Watamu Beach, the resort offers a stunning backdrop of the Kenyan north coast – and when the sun sets, this beautiful scenery is one of the dreamiest settings imaginable for your wedding ceremony.

You’ll be appointed with your very own wedding coordinator at the hotel, who will help to ensure that every last detail has been attended to. The ceremony will be held in the Club Grounds, and can be arranged either in the luscious, manicured gardens or on the sun-kissed beachfront. For each individual ceremony, a bower made with palm fronds decorated with fresh, tropical flowers is built. After a sublime wedding, you’ll celebrate with a divine dinner and a bottle of sparkling wine.

If you choose our Premier Wedding, the bride will be treated to a manicure & pedicure, whilst the groom will enjoy a massage. You’ll also delight in wedding cake, a blissful choir or Maasai dancers, and a selection of professional photos to flick through together as you enjoy a romantic breakfast in bed the following morning.

Turtle Bay Beach Club is a relaxed resort where you can really immerse yourself in the breath-taking landscapes. The prime beachfront location means water sports, sailing and sunbathing are all easily accessible – perfect for a serene, beautiful and fun-filled getaway. The staff here are attentive, warm and friendly, making for a really peaceful and indulgent ambience around the resort. There is a total of 145 rooms, each offering beautifully-appointed, private living space and a gorgeous balcony or patio with sublime views.

Letter Of No Trace - This is a document required in some destinations, which states that there is no impediment to the proposed marriage.  These certificates vary in the length of time they are valid so it is important to check which apply to your circumstances.  The certificate is prepared by the Superintendent Registrar at the Register Office in the area you live. This replaces the old advice for the Certificate of No Impediment. A no trace letter costs £50 and can be obtained from the General Register Office by calling +44 (0)300 123 1837 (8am to 8pm Monday to Friday).

Before you travel:

Guests marrying at hotels in Kenya will need to send original documents via DHL to the resort at least 12 weeks before the date of travel.  If marrying on safari, please remember that you will need to spend at least 2 working days in Nairobi to complete wedding formalities before travelling to your chosen safari.

Translation of documents

All legal documents must be in English or legally translated into English. All translated documents must be from a legal translator with letterhead, stamp and seal from the translator's office or notarised by a Notary Public.  Occasionally the documentation will have to be sent to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office for their approval before being sent back to the notary to sign.

The Wedding Ceremony

In most destinations, your wedding ceremony will be conducted Monday to Friday (excluding local holidays).  In some destinations, local festivals and holidays will determine available wedding dates.  Generally, your wedding will take place in the grounds of the hotel unless otherwise specified.  Many hotels offer wedding gazebos for extra privacy.  Some hotels may offer more than one wedding per day with the first wedding taking place at around 10am with the last wedding at 4pm.  The majority of our weddings are conducted by a marriage officer whose title varies depending on the resort.  Where it is possible to be married by a Minister, the ceremony will be non-denominational unless otherwise stated and will be a Civil wedding.

Tropical Sky Weddings and the information given above only apply to couples that were born in the UK or Ireland and hold a valid UK/Irish passport (with at least 6 months validity on return home).  If couples do not fulfil these requirements they must advise us.  Couples should be referred to the embassy of the country of origin and the country where they wish to marry as they may require extra documentation to satisfy their own embassy requirements – Tropical Sky cannot advise on this and couples must investigate this on their own. As Tropical Sky weddings have no jurisdiction over hotels/resorts/venues/legal requirements and their charges, we cannot be responsible for any increases or changes to these wedding arrangements.  We will, however, endeavour to advise you of changes as soon as we are made aware of them.
