Day 1
Ushuaia
Arrive into Ushuaia (arrival transfer included) and spend time enjoying the sights and sounds of the world's most southerly city.
Day 2
Ushuaia
Set sail this afternoon after enjoying a free morning to explore Ushuaia with some shopping, an optional excursion to Tierra del Fuego National Park or with a hike to Marshall Glacier. In the evening, enjoy watching the sunset over Beagle Channel from the deck.

Day 3-4
Drake Passage
Your journey begins with a 497 mile-long (800km) crossing of the passage which bears the name of the 16th Century English explorer Sir Francis Drake. On your second day you will cross the Antarctic Convergence. When you pass this zone, you’ll have entered into the most nutrient-rich waters on earth – the Southern Ocean. Albatross and Cape Petrels - among other species of birdlife - thrive here so be sure to keep a lookout. Enjoy daily lectures and educational talks on everything from local wildlife to geology to history and previous human expeditions to Antarctica. You will receive a wealth of information from highly skilled and professional historians, marine biologists, and naturalists who are keen to give their unique perspective so make sure to take note!

Day 5-10
Antarctic Peninsula & South Shetland Islands
With a total of six days to explore the world’s most southerly ecosystem, there’s plenty of time to take in the sensational jaw-dropping landscapes, inspiring vistas and look out for unique wildlife. You’ll aim for two shore landings each day, where you’ll get up close to the amazing landscape and encounter penguin rookeries, seals and beautiful whale sightings. You’ll also learn about the important and dramatic expeditions to this area throughout history, with the option to take a polar plunge (hope you brought your swimsuit), or visit an abandoned whaling station or a working scientific research station. Continue to receive daily lectures throughout the trip where you’ll learn a wealth of information, make sure to take note so you can tell your friends back home!

Day 11-12
Drake Passage
Begin your journey north to Ushuaia, with chance to review your Antarctic experience and the many highlights with your lecturers. Be sure to head onto the deck for some last-minute whale and nature sightings. Make sure to ask the experts on hand all of your unanswered questions at this point as they will be happy to enlighten you.

Day 13
Depart Ushuaia
Your tour comes to an end today - disembark in the morning and transfer for your departing flight.
