David and Brenda share their Dubai and Fujairah holiday story

David and Brenda went on our Dubai City and Fujairah twin centre holiday, but stayed at Hues in Dubai. Here's what they had to say:

We’ve travelled to Egypt six times before, but for our latest holiday we decided we wanted to experience a modern Middle East city and enjoy a bit of winter sunshine. We saw the Dubai and Fujairah twin centre holiday on the Tropical Sky website and it had everything we were looking for, but we decided to add an extra night to both hotel stays to maximise our time away. We did think about staying in a Dubai resort throughout, but hopping over to Fujairah seemed better value for money.

We stayed at Hues whilst we were in Dubai on a bed and breakfast basis, which was great for a city break as we had the freedom eat out economically in the various shopping mall’s food courts. Staying in Deira also gave us a chance to discover more of the local life in Dubai – we travelled using the Metro which was an excellent experience, though very busy in the evening. We tried beating the crowds with ‘Gold’ tickets on the second day, but that still wasn’t any help in the evening at rush hour – we still had to stand! We’d recommend planning your city trip in advance and to read up on the attractions, so you can make the most of your holiday. We loved The Creek and the Dubai Mall but the highlight was visiting Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building.

Once in Fujairah we stayed at The Iberotel Miramar Al Aqah Beach Hotel on an all-inclusive basis, which was really good value for money. The hotel itself is excellent in every way, provided you don’t want to see much other than the hotel – we didn’t mind this, and thoroughly enjoyed the hotel’s amenities and facilities. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the waiters in particular standing out for us, and the food was first class. We used the flexible dining option so we could pick from the Italian and Asian restaurants, and though we’ve stayed in all-inclusive hotels all over the world, this was one of the best. This part of the holiday was our favourite thanks to its warm weather and beautiful beaches, and the holiday certainly left us with some great memories.
