Day 1

Hanoi

You will be met upon arrival at Hanoi airport by your private driver and transferred to your hotel. After check in, you will get to know the city with a private walking tour of the markets and the Old Quarter. In the evening experience a traditional Water Puppet show before a welcome dinner at a local restaurant and an overnight stay in Hanoi.

Day 2

Hanoi - Sapa

Drive from the hotel through the historic Ba Dinh Square, where President Ho Chi Minh declared Vietnam's independence in 1945, and admire the impressive architecture and the peaceful atmosphere surrounding the square. You will also explore the Old Quarter, the Lake of the Restored Sword, Ngoc Son Temple, the Temple of Literature, and the tranquil West Lake. The tour concludes with visits to Tran Quoc Pagoda and Quan Thanh Temple.

Your adventure to Sapa will then begin with an overnight train from Hanoi to the border town of Lao Cai.

Day 3

Sapa - Cat Cat Village

After breakfast on the train, you'll arrive at Lao Cai station around 6:00 a.m. and be transferred to Sapa (90-minute drive). Upon arrival, take a walking tour into the valley to visit the Cat Cat village. In the afternoon, your guide will take you to the Cable Car Station, where you’ll enjoy a 20-minute ride offering stunning views. At 2,800 metres, take time to admire the scenery, visit the pagoda, and hike up 600 steps to reach the peak of Fansipan, the Roof of Indochina. After returning to Sapa, refresh and enjoy dinner at your leisure, then explore the town before an overnight stay.

Day 4

Sapa - Hanoi

Visit the local market this morning, followed by a 3-4 hour trek along buffalo paths, passing through the hill tribe villages of Lao Chai and Ta Van, home to the H'mong and Dzay people. The trek offers stunning views and the chance to meet welcoming locals. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed on the way to Ta Van. After the trek, you will be transferred to Lao Cai station to catch the overnight train back to Hanoi.

Day 5

Hanoi - Halong Bay

Arriving in Hanoi around 5:30 am, you will check into a day-use hotel near the railway station to freshen up and have breakfast (included in the tour price). At 8:30 am, you will be picked up for the drive to Halong Bay, arriving at the jetty around noon. Board your chosen ‘junk’ (traditional Chinese sailing boat), where you’ll enjoy lunch while cruising towards the bay. In the afternoon, take in the stunning scenery from various viewpoints, swim in a peaceful cove, or relax on deck. Visit a fishing village and interact with local fishermen before anchoring for the night. Dinner is served on board after sunset cocktails.

Day 6

Halong Bay – Hanoi - Hue

Start your day with morning Tai Chi and watch the sunrise over the stunning scenery of Halong Bay. Breakfast is served on board (brunch on some boats) as the vessel cruises slowly through the magnificent rock formations, heading back towards port. Disembark around noon and transfer to Hanoi airport for a short flight to Phu Bai Airport, followed by a brief road transfer to your hotel in Hue.

Day 7

Hue

After breakfast, enjoy a romantic cruise on the Perfume River, surrounded by ancient tombs of past emperors. Your first stop will be the charming Thien Mu Pagoda, the unofficial symbol of Hue and the centre of Buddhism in Central Vietnam. Next, visit King Minh Mang's Tomb and King Tu Duc's Tomb. In the afternoon, explore the UNESCO-listed Citadel, the Forbidden Purple City, the Imperial Museum, and the colourful Dong Ba Market. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Hue.

Day 8

Hue - Danang - Hoi An

Depart from the UNESCO World Heritage city of Hue and head towards Hoi An. You will travel over the scenic Hai Van Pass, stopping in Da Nang to visit the Cham Museum and Marble Mountain before continuing to Hoi An. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and enjoy some free time to explore the town before an overnight stay.

Day 9

Hoi An

Hoi An is a charming riverside town, once a bustling trading port, with architecture reflecting Japanese, Chinese, French, and Portuguese influences. Much of the town has remained unchanged for over 100 years. You will embark on a half-day walking tour through the narrow, winding streets of the Ancient Quarter, visiting Chua Ong Pagoda, Chinese Assembly Halls, and the Japanese Bridge. Afterwards, enjoy some shopping or relax at your hotel.

Day 10

Hoi An – Danang - Ho Chi Minh City

Depart for Da Nang Airport for a 1-hour flight to Ho Chi Minh City. In the afternoon, enjoy a city tour of the former Saigon, visiting the Reunification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Old Post Office, and the bustling Ben Thanh Market.

Day 11

Cu Chi Tunnel & Cao Dai Temple

A fascinating day lies ahead. In the morning, learn about the Cao Dai religion, where followers worship Jesus Christ, Confucius, Taoism, and Buddha, with the symbol of the Divine Eye at the Holy See Temple.

After lunch, drive to the Cu Chi Tunnels, a 200km network of underground tunnels that served as hideouts, shelters, field hospitals, factories, and homes during the Vietnam War.

Day 12

Ho Chi Minh City - Can Tho

After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Cai Be and embark on a boat trip to Tân Phong Island. Here, you’ll bike through village paths to experience local life, including orchards, schools, churches, pagodas, and traditional houses. Along the way, stop to see rice-net making, coconut-leaf weaving, and how dried water hyacinth is crafted into products like baskets, bags, and hats. Then, enjoy a peaceful rowboat ride through smaller canals, visiting the ancient houses of Ba Duc and Ba Kiet. After a local lunch at Ba Kiet’s House, return to the boat and cross the Mekong River, heading to Can Tho for the night.

Day 13

Can Tho - Ho Chi Minh City

Start your morning in Can Tho with a peaceful boat trip through the picturesque canals, observing the daily life of boat vendors along the Mekong waterways. Visit the Cai Rang floating market, the largest in the Mekong Delta. After enjoying a local lunch, you will be transferred back to Ho Chi Minh City in the afternoon.

Ho Chi Minh City Departure
