Family-owned Quinta da Casa Branca is located near the centre of Funchal, but away from the bustle of the city, has three areas of grounds of interest. There is the arboretum, which represents an interesting collection of tropical and subtropical trees, the agricultural area, consisting of a banana plantation and fruits such as avocado, mango trees and passion fruit vines and the garden with an incredible 260 species.
The 49 rooms and suites at Quinta Da Casa Branca are elegantly decorated in soft pastel colours with private balconies and terraces opening onto lush botanical gardens, famous for the richness and diversity of its trees and tropical plants imported from around the world. The Manor House which was formerly the private residence of the family, who owns the hotel, is positioned at the lower level of the grounds close to the swimming pool. Each Manor House Suite enjoys unique architecture with spacious bedroom with adjoining seating area, separate lounge and wooden floors.
Enjoy gastronomic and contemporary cuisine for dinner at The Dining Room Restaurant, whilst for a more informal service; enjoy a buffet breakfast, a la carte lunch and afternoon tea in the Garden Pavilion. At the end of the day, unwind and enjoy a drink at the Casa da Quinta Bar, whose building dates back from the 19th century.
For the well-being of the guests, the boutique hotel has a large living-space library, an outdoor pool in the middle of the exotic garden and an adult’s only pool in a middle of a banana plantation. Both pools are heated to 25C.There is also a health club which is complimentary for guests, including a gym, sauna, Jacuzzi and Turkish bath.
