Belmond Hotel Caruso is truly breath-taking. Once an 11th century palace, this stunning hotel perches atop a rugged cliff near the beloved resort town of Ravello, using its lofty location to create a tranquil and exclusive ambience.

This hotel has one of the finest infinity pools we’ve ever seen. Cascading over the edge of the cliff, you’ll be taken aback by the heavenly Amalfi Coast views as you enjoy your morning swim. We love how they use the ancient architecture to influence their choice of décor, matching exposed stone walls and ornate columns with rich textiles and stunning patterns. Old ruins adorn the main terrace, with perfumed rose bushes and lush vines crawling their way up the craggy stone.

The rooms and suites here make you feel like royalty. Scenic balconies and terraces overlook the ocean, Ravello’s terracotta roofs or the landscaped gardens, whilst inside you’ll find enticing four-poster beds and antique furnishings.

  • Belvedere Restaurant – Enjoy the most sublime views of the Amalfi Coast from this decadent restaurant, serving fresh and local Mediterranean dishes in the sophisticated dining room or out on the stylish outdoor terrace. Dress code: Smart casual. Open 12.30pm-2.30pm and 7.30pm-10.30pm.
  • Arcade Bar – A cool 18th century inspired bar with fantastic cocktails, fine wines and champagne. Open 5pm-12am, with live music from 7pm-12am.
  • Chef’s Table Experience – Talented executive chef Mimmo di Raffaele will meet you at Arcade Bar to create a personalised menu with you, later on leading you to a beautiful garden where you can dine and watch the sun set.
  • Sparkling Garden – This delightful garden setting is the perfect place to enjoy an aperitif or a laidback dinner – we’d recommend choosing one of their Italian wines and paired it with tasty canapes and relaxing music. Open 7pm-11pm in the summer months.
  • Pool Snack Bar – Fancy a snack or refresher after lounging by the pool? This lovely bar area offers light dishes and cocktails throughout the day – we’d recommend heading here at sunset. Open 9am-7pm, with lunch served 1pm-4pm.

Though there’s no kids club, there are plenty of fun activities to keep younger guests entertained, including pizza making lessons, Amalfi pottery lessons, and the opportunity to creating a movie trailer with a professional filmmaker.
