Santorini Holidays
A stunning island shaped by a volcanic eruption centuries ago, Santorini is now a fabulous and popular destination. Enticing stylish travellers with its smattering of snow-white Cycladic houses, cliffside views and unforgettable sunsets, this is a true slice of Greek paradise.
Stunning, inspiring and chilled
Formed by a cataclysmic volcanic eruption 3,600 years ago, the picturesque croissant-shaped crater named Santorini is a hit with discerning travellers. Quite rightly so with those incredible views of turquoise Aegean Sea and winding streets filled with lovely boutiques, suave champagne bars and charming restaurants usually perched on a cliff.
We have a number of wonderful hotels that embody the classic style of Santorini. With white washed walls, jaw-dropping infinity pools and impressive caldera views, they really show off the impeccable style of this tiny Greek island. Dotted amongst the blue domes of the local houses and churches, you’ll be close by the island’s friendly restaurants, archaeological ruins and unique volcanic beaches with red, black and white lava pebbles.
You can spend your days as chilled or as active as you like here. Start the day with a light breakfast on a cliff-hugging terrace, before exploring the local boutiques in the main villages of Oia and Fira. In the afternoon, hop on a cable car up to the edge of the volcano – the views are simply outstanding – enjoy pairing cheese and wine at one of the many wineries, and finish the day with a beautiful sunset cruise along the lagoon.
Why visit Santorini?
- Nothing quite beats a sunset in Santorini. Famed for offering some of the most beautiful sunsets in the world, each day you’ll see everyone crowd around to watch the sunset paint the sky in rich colours. We recommend booking a sunset sail to see the stunning show from the water, or book a table at a fish tavern at Ammoudi, the small port at the foot of village Oia. Santo Wines winery is also a popular spot – who could say no to pairing cheese and wine as the sun sinks below the skyline?
- We love the food and drink scene here. Perched on the cliff edge or along the coastline, whether you choose to enjoy an authentic Greek meal in a small off-the-beaten-track tavern or a sumptuous drink at a classy champagne lounge, we’re sure you’ll enjoy every morsel. We love Selini Restaurant - open for more than 30 years, the dishes are always delicious and the terrace boasts amazing views, whilst one of our favourite places for authentic Greek flavours is Metaxy Mas in Pygros, with lovely views of Kamari Beach. The wineries are incredible too – there are more than 18 gorgeous vineyards to explore, making this Greece’s top wine destination.
- Santorini conjures up images of lazy days relaxing in infinity pools and wandering through picturesque streets. This is certainly the case, but there are plenty of activities to enjoy here, too. Venture down to the volcanic sands for a romantic horse ride along the beach, enjoy thrilling jet skiing, swim in hot springs, and hike along Nea Kammeni’s volcanic landscape.
