The main restaurant serves a tasty mix of international cuisine, as well as offering a children’s menu guaranteed to satisfy any hungry kids. The Two and Three Bedroom Suites are ideal for families looking for modern, spacious accommodation but with the convenience of all-inclusive facilities. The resort also has an onsite gym which is free for guests and if you are looking to treat yourself there is also a spa.

For those who fancy a break from relaxing on the sandy beach, the resort offers kayaking, body boarding and other non-motorised watersports whilst the modern and extensive feature pool in the centre of the property is a beautiful spot to swim, sunbathe and sip cocktails in the sun. Based on a beautiful white sand beach, the hotel is also only a few minutes from the popular St Lawrence Gap – a great place to enjoy a true taste of Bajan culture and lifestyle. Barbados Golf Course is a 15-minute drive away for those looking to enjoy a round or two.

The following room types are available:

  • Sands Signature Room – these comfortable and spacious rooms are great value for money and enjoy placid garden views with either a balcony or terrace, sleeping a maximum of two with one queen bed (twin beds on request).
  • One Bedroom Suite – available with either pool, garden or oceanfront views these suites ideally suit a couple or two people sharing. They have a separate living/dining area which is fan-cooled.  This suite sleeps a maximum of three persons, or two adults and two children under 12yrs.
  • Two Bedroom Duplex Suite – with an additional bedroom, these suites also come with either pool, garden or oceanfront views. The bedrooms are located upstairs.  These suites sleep a maximum of four, however these rooms are not suitable for families with small children.
  • Two Bedroom Family Suite – with pool, garden or oceanfront views these rooms are ideal for families looking for modern, spacious accommodation. Sleeps a maximum of four adults and two children under 16.
  • Three Bedroom Family Suite – available with either with pool or garden views and with an additional bedroom these rooms sleep up to a maximum of six persons. These suites are ideal for large families.
  • Two Bedroom Oceanfront Penthouse Suite – offering stunning ocean views and sleeping a maximum of four, these rooms are not suitable for children under the age of 13.
  • Super Saver room - The Sands Supersaver rooms are very compact and open to internal corridors, as such there is limited natural light and these rooms do not have balconies or patios. The rooms have one queen size bed (twin beds on request), with air conditioning, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryers and  beach towels. All rooms have bathrooms with showers. Reduced prices apply for anyone choosing this room type - please call us for prices and availability.

  • Main restaurant – serving a mixture of buffet and table d’hote meals specialising in Caribbean and international cuisine, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is also a children's menu and vegetarian menu available.
  • Noir – Rooftpop restaurant only open for dinner serving a delicious a la carte menu (some items will be at a supplement) - Open 4 days per week. Children under 12 years are not permitted
  • Bars - There are two bars on property. The main bar is open from 10:00am - 23:00pm and the second bar is opening on evenings only 5 days per week

Reservatons are required for lunch and dinner.  Guests may dine in Noir once per stay and subsequent visits are at a supplement and subject to availability.

Dress codes:

Beachside Restaurant (Year- Round):
The evening dress code: Gentleman may wear smart dress shorts or smart jeans and short sleeved shirts, including polo shirts. Please note that no sports replica shirts or club branded merchandise is allowed at dinner. No Distressed Jeans. Footwear is required in the restaurant at all times. Flipflops and running shoes are not allowed.  Ladies should wear smart tailored outfits - (knee Length) dress shorts are allowed. Tops/Blouses must be full cover (no midriff showing). No distressed jeans.

Cover-ups are required in the restaurant for breakfast and lunch and footwear is required in the restaurant at all times.


Noir Restaurant (A La Carte)

Elegantly casual. Full- length trousers for gentleman and shirts with sleeves (either short or long sleeve), smart casual footwear. Stylish jeans and polo shirts are allowed.  No T-shirts, sports replica shirts or club branded merchandise. No distressed jeans, three quarter pants, cargos or shorts (shorts applies to ladies also). No running shoes, flip-flops or caps are allowed in the restaurant. Children under 12 years are not allowed in the à la carte restaurant.

Children under 12 years are not allowed in the A La Carte Restaurant.


Please note that whilst the dress code is more relaxed than it has been in the past, there are some occasions where long trousers and shirt sleeves will be more appropriate or compulsory for gentlemen so we would highly recommend still packing some!

On Christmas Day and New Years Eve, full length trousers and shirts with sleeves (either short or long sleeves) are required for gentlemen for dinner. No
jeans (this applies to both ladies and gents and includes all denim wear), no three-quarter length or cargo trousers will be allowed.

Restaurant availability will vary in line with occupancy levels

Whilst The Sands does not offer a Kids Club facility, the Guest Services team run a variety of activities  to help keep younger guests entertained at various times during the day.  This provision will be dependent on the number of children staying at the resort.
Activities may include arts & crafts, paper boat making & race, kids mixology, Connect 4, Jenga, charades, Pictionary, colouring, pool hunt, pool chase, water walking challenge, sand castle building, and water balloon challenges.

Seasonal activities are also available:

- At Easter: Easter Mask making, Easter egg and Easter cookies decorating, scavenger hunts, Easter garland making and Easter Movies

- At Christmas: Christmas Movie Night, Christmas tree making, Christmas tree decorating and a Photo opp with Santa & his elf, ice cream sundae making and scavenger hunts

Teenage activities include beach cricket, beach football, catch it, dancercise, pool therapy, yoga, mixology, sip & paint, bingo, family quiz, kayaking & paddleboarding, paddle racket and beach walks

 

The suites at The Sands offer extra space for families and we highly recommend the Two Bedroom family suites for those seeking extra space - ideal for those with older children

Exclusive to Tropical Sky:  Guests staying in the 2 Bedroom Family suite will have fridge stocked with beer, soft drinks, and water (replenished daily), Bajan treat basket in the room on arrival, Sparkling wine in room on arrival, plus a pack of cards and board games in the room.

A mandatory government levy of BDS$19.25 per bedroom per night (eg: BDS$38.50 for two bedroom suites, etc) must be settled by the guest upon check-out from the hotel.  Levy is subject to change.

Tourism Fund: An optional donation to the Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association marketing and development fund will be applied to all guest accounts of US$2 (or BDs equivalent) per day. This donation is at the discretion of the guest and can be accepted or declined at check out.
