There are times when grown-ups - parents or not - need uninterrupted time away from kids. With this in mind, we’ve checked into some of the world’s most swoonworthy hotels and resorts - all of which are strictly just for adults and come with glamorous settings, superb dining, attentive service, and next-level luxuries. They’re also gloriously free from screaming babies, mess-making toddlers, and demanding teens.
Iberostar Grand El Mirador, Tenerife
The scene: This gorgeous hotel is located on the seafront, offering spectacular views and direct access to popular yet tranquil Playa del Duque with its beautiful sands in Costa Adeje. Close by you’ll find a lively promenade with a selection of lovely restaurants and shops to enjoy.
The sleep: Luxury ensues with a collection of fabulous suites, all of which boast incredible ocean views. Enjoy comfortable four-poster beds, and opt for the Sea View Superior Junior Suite and above for the added extra of a furnished balcony or terrace. We love the ornate décor that adds a touch of class.
The stay: The stunning and heated lagoon-style pool is the star of the show here, offering wonderful views and a relaxed place to enjoy the Spanish sunshine. The scene: A divine ocean backdrop and close proximity to the popular town of Lindos puts this beautiful hotel right on the map. Enjoy epic views of the Aegean Sea as you enjoy the serene vibes.
The sleep: The rooms and suites are lovely and cosy, with minimalist Mediterranean-inspired décor and views of the pool or sea. We love the luxurious suites, especially those that offer a lovely private pool and open-plan interiors.
The stay: Built using natural materials and local stone, this hotel evokes a relaxed ambience. Spend your time chilling by the two freshwater pools, and treat yourself to a wonderful dining experience at Blue Fin, our favourite restaurant here thanks to the amazing seafood dishes with fish plucked straight from the Aegean Sea.

Pure Salt Garonda, Mallorca
The scene: You’ll find this stylish hotel along a striking stretch of coastline just south of Mallorca’s capital, Palma, where you’ll be met with sparkling ocean views. Enjoy direct access to Playa de Palma, a popular beach spot where you can shade under a thatched umbrella or enjoy the warm ocean.

Paradise Cove, Mauritius

The scene: Nothing can quite beat staying up in the mountains in St Lucia, enveloped by luscious green flora and turquoise blue waters below. Sitting just outside the former capital, Soufriere, this tranquil location offers impressive views of the Pitons.
The sleep: The suites here are a remarkable sight. All boasting a plunge pool or heated pool, we love the open-air suites where the open wall looks out onto the Pitons and ocean. You could never get bored of the views, and we absolutely love the little swing above the plunge pool in the Hilltop Dream Suite.
The stay: Sitting along a volcano ridgeline raised 1,000 feet above the ocean’s edge; it’s hard to peel yourself away from the views. The Caves, Jamaica
The scene: The Caves cottages overlook the cliffs, cavernous caves, silk-sanded beach and turquoise-tinted waters of Negril on the westernmost tip of Jamaica. The setting is sublime; close enough to hear the crashing of the waves and far enough away from the bars and music clubs. One hour from Montego Bay airport.
The sleep: Spread across the tropical grounds, all of the 12 romantic cottages delight with vibrant colour schemes, plush queen-size beds, boho-chic décor, and outdoor terraces. For eats and treats, head to the thatch-roof pavilion restaurant for local cuisine, the relaxed bar for amazing rum-based cocktails, and, of course, the caves for private candlelit dinners. Jade Mountain, St Lucia
The scene: High on a hillside above the 600-acre Anse Chastanet estate in St Lucia’s south-west, this otherworldly resort offers to-die-for views across the Caribbean Sea and towards the soaring emerald-green Pitons.
